Senior Collections Services Archivist
ASU Library seeks a Senior Collections Services Archivist to join our growing team of community-focused collections specialists. The Senior Collections Services Archivist employs a community-focused approach to developing and enhancing open access to ASU’s distinctive collections in order to engage ASU’s diverse communities of learners and scholars. Reporting to the Head of Open Collections Curation and Access, the Senior Collections Services Archivist is responsible for leading collections services for the Wurzburger and Design reading rooms on ASU’s Tempe campus. Working collaboratively with a team of archivists and librarians, the Senior Collections Services Librarian also leads provision of services including Ask-An-Archivist reference, researcher appointment support, and distinctive collections learning and outreach. The Reading Room Supervisor will report to the person in this position.
The Senior Collections Services Archivist works with library leadership and across functional teams to enhance and implement collections policies and develop strategic initiatives aligned with the University’s mission and goals. The successful candidate will build relationships with key stakeholders and pursue outreach opportunities that lead to greater community awareness of and engagement with all ASU Library collections, and support the development of diverse and inclusive collections. Through collaboration with colleagues from Community-Driven Archives, the Labriola National American Indian Data Center, and Engagement and Learning Services, the person in this position contributes to continuous improvement of internal best practices for selection, acquisition, description, access, interpretation, management, reformatting, and preservation practices for distinctive collections. Through professional contribution and service activities, the Senior Collections Services Archivist contributes to expanding and enhancing collections services.
