The program director provides leadership and management of all aspects of an academic program by providing
discipline-specific expertise, supervising staff and faculty members, addressing students' needs, and maintaining a required teaching load.
The Program Director of Nursing is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Nursing program within the Health Division and serves as a leader in nursing education matters.
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Provides supervision and administrative leadership for the entire nursing program and staff.
- Serves as primary contact person for all nursing faculty and students.
- Develops and maintains clinical site affiliations.
- Responsible for assessment of student academic achievement, nursing and/or health related clinical practice outcomes, and instructional program review.
- Maintains the rules and regulations outlined by the Michigan Board of Nursing for Nursing Education and works towards program approval by accrediting bodies.
- Directs student selection and admission process into the professional track of the nursing program.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Doctorate of Science degree in Nursing preferred
- Master of Science degree in Nursing required
- Nursing Clinical experience required
- Current RN license and BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- Must be computer literate with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and the Internet
- Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to travel to clinical sites and off site system meetings
