The program director provides leadership and management of all aspects of an academic program by providing discipline-specific expertise, supervising staff and faculty members, addressing students' needs, and maintaining a required teaching load.
The Program Director Veterinary Technology will be responsible for the overall management of the Veterinary Technician program.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
The program director provides leadership and management of all aspects of an academic program by providing discipline-specific expertise, supervising staff and faculty members, addressing students' needs, and maintaining a required teaching load.
The Program Director Veterinary Technology will be responsible for the overall management of the Veterinary Technician program.
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Maintain an annual teaching load according to Baker College's Teaching and Workload Policy
- Schedule and staff program courses
- Develop and revise curriculum as needed
- Attend campus and system program meetings
- Advise students and participate in new student orientations
- Serve as the contact for the program; organize and lead program advisory board
- Conduct program assessment & make continuous improvement
- Supervise instructors

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or Master's Degree with LVT, required
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice required
- Active Licensure in the State of Michigan
- Drug enforcement Agency (DEA) License (or eligible for licensure)
- Licensed by the Michigan Board of Pharmacy
- Proficiency in basic small animal surgery required
- Equine/large animal experience preferred
- Degree in higher education or collegiate teaching experience preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
