Assistant Professor, Public Health (Kinesiology)
The Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion (KHP) at Cal Poly Pomona invites applications for the position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in the 2025-26 academic year. Cal Poly Pomona is 30 miles east of Los Angeles and is one of 23 campuses in the California State University system. We are interested in candidates with expertise in Public Health who are excited to lead the development of our Public Health initiatives. This role includes driving forward our new Public Health minor (undergraduate), supporting existing service-learning programming, expanding community collaborations, and strengthening graduate-level scholarship.
Minimum requirements include:
- Doctorate (DPH, PhD, EdD) in Public Health or related field (Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position).
- Demonstrate potential to be effective in college teaching related to Public Health
- Commitment to contribute, teach, and engage in a multicultural environment with a diverse student body (>50% URM). [Evidence should be provided in a Student Success Statement that responds to the “Inclusive Excellence and Student Success” prompt in the long description].
- Commitment to service-learning, community-engaged learning, community-based participatory research and/or action research.
- Demonstrate potential for a strong research, scholarly and creative agenda in Public Health
- Demonstrate potential to grow our Public Health footprint with a forward-thinking, growth mindset.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
