The purpose of this class is to perform a variety of advanced technical duties to facilitate the appropriate ordering and processing of library materials.
Bachelor's Degree required and three (3) years library technical services experience in cataloging. One (1) year community college library experience required.

- Use Sierra, the library ILS, to perform job responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate records and statistics using various online management systems.
- Assist with special projects as required, such as college archives and digital repository.
- Staff the information desk.
- Perform copy cataloging and batch record uploading for library materials.
- Perform original cataloging of selected materials as required.
- Use technical expertise and knowledge of cataloging resources such as OCLC, the LC Classification Web, OCLC Connexion, MARC format and FRBR (Functional Requirements for Bibliographical Records) for solving cataloging issues.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the cataloging office, including regular workflow and supply inventory.
- Assist with inventory and weeding of library collections.
- Communicate with library staff regarding cataloging issues and problem solving.
