The purpose of this class is to provide departmental leadership and direction consistent with the strategic vision of Information Technology division and the mission of the College. Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.
Bachelor's degree required, degree in computer science, software engineering, application development, or information technology management preferred. Five (5) years of experience managing application development, project management and developing staff required. Experience working with higher education computer services departments, including experience with Ellucian Banner software products preferred. Experience with Oracle data base products or other relational data bases such as Microsoft SQL Server. Three (3) years of experience with database development tools, Java, JavaScript, C or C+ + programming, including implementation or upgrading of major enterprise systems.

- Provide direct supervision and evaluation to assigned staff.
- Develop and manage operating budget for assigned unit college-wide, as required.
- Hire and supervise assigned staff in the planning and evaluation as required for the completion of scheduled projects and tasks
- Assist with the execution of strategic priorities and operational objectives
- Interact with system users to understand their needs.
- Assist in the resolution of problems related to IT systems
- Establish goals and objectives for operations consistent with CCBC's mission.
- Provide leadership for systems analysis and/or programming projects.
- Monitor and report project status.
- Coordinate and control problem resolution.
- Respond to end user questions and concerns.
- Analyze and assign project requests.
- Professional development of staff, daily management and conduct performance appraisals,
- Monitor technical list servers, e-mails, and vendor web sites.
- Manage Help Desk tickets relating to Administrative and Enterprise systems.
- Manage coding, coordination, and implementation of new programs
- Manage and evaluate the administrative services environment for problem resolutions and future enhancements.
- Enhance customer relationships by investigating user problems and needs; identify their source and determine possible solutions.
