Job Summary
Supports the Executive Director and Associate Director in the development and management of the College's strategic communications plan. Creates content that can be published across College of Business communications channels including but not limited to social media, website, enewsletter, alumni magazine, news releases and other materials. Develops media pitches on faculty research, college accomplishments and programs, and other newsworthy content.

Job Summary

- Creates content to publish across College of Business communications channels including but not limited to social media, website, enewsletter, alumni magazine, news releases and other materials. Assists in content strategy recommendations based on information content analysis.
- Works with the Associate Director of Communications and Executive Director of Marketing and National Branding in the execution and management of the college's media relations strategy and overall communications plan, including the development of strategy and research efforts that support the college's communications goals. Develops media pitches on faculty research, college accomplishments and programs, and other newsworthy content. Responds to media inquiries and requests for expert interviews quickly.
- Covers events for website, social media and enewsletter.
- Completes additional research and writing projects as assigned by the Associate Director of communications or executive director of marketing and national branding.
- Works with external contractors to manage special projects and initiatives, including directing freelance writers when appropriate.
- Develops familiarity with research and work of College faculty members and selected alumni, in order to identify, develop and write about newsworthy items. Collects and updates information on faculty research and alumni activity, and converts the information into lay language for use in college's online and print publications, media releases and pitches to media.
- Assists the Associate Director in managing the development and production of the College's print and online news publications, such as the online BIzNews, e-newsletter and alumni magazine.
- Assists the Associate Director in preparation of talking points, speeches, scripts and other materials for College leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media/Public Relations, Communications, or related degree and five (5) years of experience in a related field.
- Master's degree in Journalism or Communications (or equivalent degree).
