Under the direct supervision and management of the University Registrar, the Associate Registrar, acting as the Director of Technology for Registration & Academic Services (RAS), has principal oversight of technology solutions used by RAS to support the educational mission and goals of the office and University; provides operational guidance for campus services provided by RAS; acts as the data manager for student records and manages technical implementation of projects for RAS. 1. Technology Management - Provides principal oversight of technical services areas in Registration and Academic Services (RAS) (40%)
*Provide overall leadership and administration with respect to technology; systems used within RAS include, but are not limited to: Ellucian Banner and DegreeWorks, CourseLeaf, CollegeNet 25Live, Argos, National Student Clearinghouse, etc.
*Identify and recommend technology solutions; work with stakeholders to define and align needs and requirements with system functionality
*Communicates and collaborates with the Assistant Vice Provost, Enrollment Services and Library and Technology Services to ensure alignment of technology strategy across the core Enrollment Management offices as well as the University
*Lead software implementations and enhancements; work closely with stakeholders to ensure University needs and requirements are being met; provide documentation and training on business practices
*Identify areas of improvement utilizing expertise to streamline processes and prioritize implementations; remain apprised of technology trends within higher education
*Serve as high-level technical support for RAS staff and the University community; solve complex technical problems and provide specialized technical support
*Analyze technological needs for the implementation of policies pertaining to student records; research solutions and provide input to relevant committees
2. Project Management - Serve as the Lead Project Manager for technology in RAS. (20%)
*In coordination with the University Registrar, develop short and long-range goals, aligned with the University strategic plan, to meet the needs of the office and key stakeholders
*Provide project management guidance for all internal and external projects and implementations involving RAS
*Develop project scopes and objectives, collaborating with all relevant stakeholders including: Enrollment Services, Library & Technology Services, Enterprise Systems, Bursar, Financial Aid, colleges, academic departments, faculty, etc.
*Conduct project status meetings and review project progress relative to budget, schedule and specifications
*Delegate project tasks within the technical team while collaborating with functional staff as needed
3. Student Records - Data Manager within Registration & Academic Services, with responsibilities for maintaining security and integrity of student records (10%)
*In conjunction with the University Registrar, has responsibility for proper maintenance, security, storage and retention of student data
*Resolve data access or definition issues involving data elements which exist in multiple data subsets across stems; collaborate with appropriate University offices to develop innovative solutions to complex problems addressing needs with limited University resources and personnel
*Ensure University compliance with FERPA with regards to data access and distribution
*Establish authorization procedures to facilitate appropriate data access as defined by campus data policy and ensure data security for data within the student area; identify the access type (public, internal, or internal and sensitive) for each data element within the Student data subsets
*Manage fulfillment of complex data requests from the University community; analyze data to discover trends; transform discoveries into actionable and accessible information for University administration
*Review and approve requests for data access by other University constituents in accordance with the campus data policy; regularly audit user access and make necessary adjustments to comply with institutional policy
*Provide guidance and assistance in the interpretation of data subsets, including data definitions as needed
4. Campus Services - Principal oversight of RAS services offered to faculty and staff (10%)
*Oversee Banner utilization for the schedule of classes and all associated tasks, class schedule and classroom reporting, Schedule Expert final exam scheduling, 25LIVE room scheduling, CourseLeaf CAT and CIM administration
*Provide leadership and guidance to develop and deliver information and training sessions relative to campus services and support
*Serve as a liaison to the University user community
*Working alongside the University Registrar, evaluate current policies and procedures related to campus services
Give presentations to campus constituencies on systems and processes
5. Supervision and Management - Supervise technology and campus services staff and contribute to office management (20%)
*Recruit, interview and select staff for vacant technology positions
*Participate in hiring searches and interviews for office positions
*Onboard and train direct reports on departmental processes, procedures and job-specific duties
*Monitor, review and discuss work performance
*Identify areas for growth or improvement: coach direct reports on career development plans, create and implement performance improvement plans and provide recommendations for professional development

The duties of this position may allow the employee to work partially remote as deemed appropriate by their supervisor
Ability to work evenings and/or weekends during peak periods
Occasional travel is required
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Higher Education, Computer Science, Business or a related field; Master's Degree preferred
Five to eight years related work experience
Demonstrated knowledge of student information systems, preferably Ellucian Banner products (SIS, Document Management Suite, Ellucian Workflow, Oracle SQL, Argos or similar advanced reporting tools)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent analytical and decision making skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to create successful working relationships with a variety of team members and stakeholders
Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
