HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) REPRESENTATIVE 2, Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE), to provide responsive and transparent support to the HR team of a large interdisciplinary laboratory and process academic and non-academic HR transactions. Responsibilities include preparing and coordinating the submission of academic/non-academic appointments and change transactions; processing postdoctoral, visitor, research staff, and affiliate appointments; coordinating and preparing visa paperwork and documentation; contributing to the design, creation, and analysis of reports; tracking expiring appointments and visas; collecting and tracking performance and salary review materials; preparing letters, memos, and correspondence; resolving payroll/pay issues; assisting with new hire paperwork; processing all HR forms; advising and assisting faculty and staff on routine to mildly complex HR matters; liaising with central HR; responding to general HR inquiries and assisting with issues related to policies and procedures; assisting managers with developing job descriptions for H-1B visas; database and records maintenance; responding to new hire questions and assisting with onboarding process; recognizing potential employee relations issues and involving appropriate individuals; and performing other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; five years’ HR experience; working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and internet, email/calendaring, reporting, and database software; excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills; discretion, tact, diplomacy, and good judgment with confidential issues; meticulous attention to detail; and flexible approach to responsibilities and ability to see issues from a variety of vantage points. Must be able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks/assignments in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and competing priorities; work independently and as part of a team; and build relationships, both internally and externally.
