What Sets Missouri S&T Apart?

With over 7,000 students enrolled online and on campus, Missouri S&T is big enough to accommodate a diverse population but small enough for individuals to stand out. Academics Missouri S&T is a campus in motion. Students pedal human-powered vehicles in the shadow of Toomey Hall, the mechanical and aerospace engineering complex. Mining and explosives engineers use their expertise to address traumatic brain injury, while materials scientists develop new types of glass to mend broken bones and researchers from a broad range of disciplines develop ways to mine on the moon. S&T students actively participate in their education by conducting research alongside renowned faculty; conceiving, designing and building everything from concrete canoes to Mars rovers through 19 student design teams; participating in intercollegiate athletics; and bringing safe drinking water to communities in developing nations.

Upon graduation, these experienced students are in high demand by companies across the country and around the world, and command high starting salaries. S&T is frequently cited for its exceptional return on investment by the Princeton Review, SmartAsset, PayScale and others. World-Class Education Without exceptional faculty members and involved alumni, it wouldn't be possible to give these students a stellar education. Missouri S&T graduates have lived on the International Space Station, led Fortune 500 companies, developed innovative cancer treatments and won Academy Awards. Many of the university's most loyal alumni return to campus and support S&T financially.
