Work Schedule
The assigned work hours of IT Support Staff are determined by the business needs of the college. These positions are full time positions responsible for 40 hours of work per week. The work schedule will fall between the primary hours of education on campus, which run from 8 am to 8 pm, Monday – Friday. This position is not eligible for remote work.

General Description:
As a member of the college-wide College Computing unit, this entry-level position will support the on-site IT needs of the campus community, including students, staff, faculty and campus leadership. Responsibilities include classroom, office, and desk-side IT support, working as a team to prevent IT issue escalation, participating in campus trainings, and supporting college-wide initiatives/emergencies as needed. The assigned work hours of IT Support Staff are determined by the business needs of the college. This position is full-time with a 40 hour work week. The work schedule will fall between the primary hours of education on campus, which run from 8 am to 8 pm, Monday – Friday.

Duties and Tasks:
Support faculty, students, and staff in the use of computer operations and classroom technology
Assist faculty, staff, and students with any computer/laptop problems, classroom AV issues and login credential questions.
Maintain compliance with college security policy during work activities
Support faculty, staff, and students with laptop/cell phone wireless network setup and the use of login credentials.
Provide remote support or desk side support for faculty, staff, and students in the use of technology
Troubleshooting phone system concerns, and LAN issues at the desk of users.
Responsibility for responding to phone requests and online requests for technology service from users.
Responsible for tracking support activities for routine items in ticketing system, as well as creating escalation tickets to higher support levels when required.
Responsible for service request follow up to users to help them understand current ticket status, or any change in ticket status.
Assist the campus with inventory tracking.
May act escalation point for part time staff of student workers
Perform and complete technical tasks with some supervision.
May be mobilized and temporarily assigned to support a college-wide need/emergency.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Required KSA’s:
Ability to multi-task and work on several project/issues simultaneously.
Strong customer service skills with high emotional intelligence
Proven ability to provide technical support to desktop computers, peripherals, and the technology installed in classrooms.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware and software problems with desktops and laptops.
Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with technical and non-technical personnel.
Proven ability to complete technical tasks on time, with some supervision
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Some experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting problems with PC and/or Apple computers to include computer hardware and software, and printers
Some previous customer service experience.
Some experience performing laptop or desktop computer repair.
Some working knowledge of Windows OS, Mac OSX, Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certification, and/or AS degree in IT, Computer Science, or related degree.
Exposure to deploying images in a systems environment (ECM/SCCM).
Microsoft Certified
Experience working with Apple computers.
Experience working with a diverse population in a higher education environment
Experience identifying and resolving problems that occur in a classroom setting using technology.
Some experience with taking inventory of products, or tracking technology item locations.
