he Oakland University School of Nursing is seeking highly motivated and qualified CRNA applicants to teach graduate students enrolled in the Oakland University-Beaumont Graduate Program of Nurse Anesthesia, beginning August 15, 2025.

Applicants will be expected to engage in all aspects of the program, including but not limited to teaching in the classroom, clinical mentoring, guiding the development of clinical doctorate projects, and developing and evaluating curriculum. A minimum of 2 years in a leadership or faculty role is preferred.

Candidates must be expert clinicians and able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to service. The ability to effectively communicate and work within a team environment is essential. First consideration will be given to applicants who apply by July 3, 2025, with the continued search until the position is filled.

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and accredited School of Nurse Anesthesia. Doctoral degree (DNPDNAP, PhD) in nursing or related field preferred. A Master’s in nursing or related field may be accepted if the candidate is enrolled in a doctoral program and will complete the program within a year of hire.

Current certification/recertification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists. Must hold a current Michigan Registered Nurse license or be eligible for Michigan RN licensure and specialty licensure to practice in Michigan as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

A minimum of 2 years of practice experience in the specialty of nurse anesthesia. Teaching experience in clinical or didactic areas is preferred.

Expertise in academic or hospital administrative leadership preferred—knowledge of and familiarity with academic programs, institutions, and procedures. Experience with clinical placement and contract management preferred. Professional appearance and attitude are required. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Strong organizational and time management skills. Flexibility and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Strong interpersonal skills consistent with demands for frequent contact with hospital and university employees, external agencies, and students are required. Self-directed and can follow standard operating procedures but demonstrates initiative and problem-solving abilities.

Demonstrated ability to automate and improve processes, and work at a high level of accuracy. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word®, Excel®, and PowerPoint®); classroom technology knowledge (Moodle, Microsoft Office, Zoom). Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license to travel between Oakland University, Corewell Health, and affiliate site locations.

Experience in evidence-based practice change and leading student DNP and research projects.

Unless otherwise required by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the Higher Learning Commission, or an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional, and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.

Assists the OU-Beaumont Graduate Program of Nurse Anesthesia Program Director in the management of all aspects of classroom and clinical components of the program. Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates classroom and clinical teaching and processes related to clinical and classroom instruction of graduate students enrolled in the program.
