Job Description
OHIO Athletics is a dynamic team of student-athletes, coaches and administrators with a vision to demonstrate unprecedented excellence in athletics, academics and student-athlete development. Our championship culture provides a foundation for our students to grow as a person, student and athlete.
The Director of Athletics Administration supports the oversight and executive level management of the department's strategic priorities and initiatives as outlined by the Director of Athletics. Responsibilities include management of the daily operations of the athletics director's organizational unit and business activities, ensures collaborative and constructive relationships are maintained with university partners and senior leadership, proactively identifies and resolves issues, and develops, coordinates and supports initiatives to maintain a high level of integrity. This position serves an integral executive role to the Athletics Director's Cabinet and Athletics Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Director of Athletics.
Primary accountabilities:
1. Oversee the athletics director's day-to-day operations. Responsible for communications and coordination between units and providing information. Execute the director's vision for creating and implementing a departmental organizational structure that meets the demands of the current intercollegiate athletics landscape. Advise and educate senior directors and relevant stakeholders on strategic planning, departmental initiatives, policies and procedures.
Serve as a subject matter expert, handling high level and confidential inquiries, developing action plans to address them, and the preparation and dissemination of communications. Plan and develop a strategy to ensure information flows efficiently and effectively to internal and external constituents.
2. Provide research on key focus areas and develop presentations for the Director of Athletics as needed. Collaborate with the Athletics Director's Cabinet and Athletics Leadership Team on executive communications and agendas as related to the Director of Athletics. Assist with development and messaging of the Ohio Athletics brand.
3. Manage all stages of planning and implementation on departmental-wide projects. Conduct research, analyze data and make recommendations. Provide project management support; track, monitor and follow the progress of projects, action items and strategies that stem from meetings. Monitors and evaluates impact and goal outcomes to achieve athletics department objectives.
4. Collaborate on Ohio Athletics development cultivation and donor outreach initiatives, to include acknowledgements and personal correspondence, departmental communication to alumni and donors, coordinating high level logistical functions related to activities, special events and projects that require multiple constituents.
5. Manage and control the Director of Athletics' budget, review and coordinate the approval of contracts, and collaborate with the Senior Associate Athletics Director/CFAO to provide recommendations on expenditures as it related to strategic initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred. Experience at the collegiate level preferred.
