Job Description

Expected hours worked per week: 20

Graders for College of Business Graduate Programs will work under the supervision of a faculty member. Due to the nature of the online graduate programs, courses are taken over a seven-week period, which are conducted fully online. The primary role of the grader is to provide support to a faculty member so the faculty member can focus on teaching. Graders should be familiar with Blackboard and AdobeConnect. This pool will be used to fill openings during the academic year 2023-2024.

1. Grading support-Graders will be asked to grade a variety of assignments for faculty members. Assignments can come in the form of homework assignments, quizzes, discussion board posts, or other forms of assessments. In general, students will be provided with grading keys, rubrics or other material to assist with this responsibility. When this type of material is not available, graders will communicate with the faculty members for further instruction.

In addition to grading assignments, graders will also be asked to provide feedback on assignments and will be asked to enter grades into the Learning Management System.

2. Discussion Board Support-Discussion boards are either used as a direct assessment, or used as a forum where students on the Online MBA program can go for general help. Graders will be asked to monitor discussion board activity to either grade discussion board entries or to provide assistance with course and content related questions.

3. Virtual Office Hours or Class Support-Due to the nature of the fully online MBA programs, graders may be asked to assist faculty members with virtual sessions. In general, graders will be asked to provide answers to questions in the form of chat, or be asked to take notes, or record other information during the virtual session.

4. Miscellaneous Support-Graders may be asked to review exam-proctoring reports and provide a summary of those reports to the faculty members. Other responsibilities may include helping the faculty member prepare material, which is to be disseminated to the students in a timely fashion.
