Job Description
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for managing and coordinating activities to ensure compliance with the regulatory standards set forth in the Jeanne Clery Act. The compliance coordinator is responsible for developing, analyzing, administering, and coordinating Clery Act reporting as mandated by the Department of Education. This position will facilitate with departments across the University as well as relevant local, country or state police agencies, the formulation, training, and reporting of Clery Act specific information. This position will monitor and ensure compliance with all Clery Act related mandates across the University, update the Crime Log, maintain accurate crime statistics, develop presentations, conduct training, assist University departments with drafting policy statements, participate and/or chair various compliance committees, and draft the Annual Security Report.This position will also ensure the Police Department complies with mandates issued by The Department of Higher Ed. This position is responsible to collect and file UCR/IBR data, and conduct crime analysis functions to include statistical analysis, crime mapping, staffing and resource allocation recommendations, etc.

Considerable knowledge of laws and regulations associated with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. Working knowledge of statistical software, geographical information, law enforcement records management systems. Basic knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding student and employee policies and records. Working knowledge of current and new trends on best practices in crime analysis and monitoring/tracking systems.Excellent written and oral communications skills with strong interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office suite or related software. Excellent presentation skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to independently initiate and manage projects to completion. Demonstrated ability to manipulate various forms of data to prepare a wide variety of reports and recommendations. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities. Demonstrated strong ability to pay close attention to detail to include strong proofreading skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with major stakeholders within a diverse community. Ability to develop and make effective presentations to diverse populations.
Special licenses, registration or certification
Valid driver's license, insurable driving record. Must obtain and maintain VCIN level A Operator certification within 6 months of hiring.

Level and type of experience
Considerable professional experience in data collection and statistical analysis, interpretation, governmental report preparation, and establishing and implementing projects/program management. Considerable experience working with sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion/tact. Considerable experience with developing and providing presentations, on behalf of the agency, utilizing software such as PowerPoint. Basic experience with mandatory Clery reporting, data analysis software, such as SPSS or Excel.
Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Working knowledge of HEOA, HEA, Title IX, Drug Free Schools and Safe Campuses regulations, Sexual Assault Victims Bill of Rights, Violence Against Women Act, FERPA, FOIA, and other related federal/state mandates and laws. Master's degree in one of the following areas: Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Business/Public Administration, Psychology, Human Resources, Communications, Mathematics or other related discipline or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training. Some experience with compliance management and/or grant management (e.g. developing proposals, preparing reports and budgets). Prior experience drafting an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, classifying Clery crimes, and disciplinary referral cases.Some experience in policy development and writing.Some experience with crime mapping and analysis software, such as LexisNexis Accurint.Some experience in a larger (20,000+population) higher education environment.
Conditions of Employment
Must be able to work a 40 hour work week and travel as required. Requires a comprehensive background investigation of the final candidate to include a local, state and federal criminal history check which will include fingerprinting and drug testing. Designated as “essential personnel” for emergency closings.
