Job Description
Provide a high level of technical support, affecting the reliability and utilization of the University's IP based Physical Security devices and other converged technologies including systems administration level management. This includes the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and monitoring of security cameras, door access, panic alarms, emergency phones and other systems.

Considerable knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures for computer and communications systems. Considerable knowledge of IP based physical security devices and their installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and monitoring. Working knowledge of electronics and electronics repair. Working knowledge of systems administration. Considerable knowledge of networking and network protocols. Working knowledge of structured cabling systems such as copper, Cat5, Cat6 and coax. Demonstrated ability to interact with contractors and co-workers. Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage time and work independently. Effective oral and written communications skills.In most cases these knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Valid Driver's license with insurable driving record.

Considerable experience with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and monitoring of IP based physical security devices and related infrastructure, such as security cameras, door access, panic alarms and emergency phones. Considerable knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and management of them. Considerable experience with networking and communications systems. Considerable experience in the installation and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems such as copper, Cat5, Cat6 and coax.
Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Some experience with CBORD CS-Gold systems, Axis Camera and ipConfigure VMS system. Cisco certified associate, professional or expert level career certifications, such as, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert or equivalent knowledge.
Conditions of Employment
40-hour work week Monday-Friday; Some evenings and weekends; rotating on call.
This position is considered essential personnel and may be required to work during university closings.
This position is designated as sensitive. A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the final candidate.

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $ - 50,811
