Job Description Summary
The Manager of Donor Relations in the Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA) and executes comprehensive plans to manage major donor and strategic partner relationships and manages signature events. The Manager is responsible for developing and implementing engagement and stewardship strategies to enhance and support the experience with current and prospective donors. The Manager also works in tandem with OIA team members to provide comprehensive fundraising support, event logistics and stewardship efforts (acknowledgements, printed material inventory, prep materials for donor meetings, etc.)

Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum bachelor degree.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive development experience, preferably in higher education or an education-focused nonprofit
- Successful track record of soliciting and closing individual, corporate and/or foundation gifts at the five and six-figure gift level
- Experience in building and managing a portfolio of individual, corporate and/or foundation donors.
- Experience coordinating cultivation events and/or communications programs focused on donor engagement
- Familiar with fundraising office administration (best-practices, protocol, procedures, and record/data management)
- Entrepreneurial-minded professional with the ability to foster collaboration across a large, expansive organization
- Excellent diplomacy, verbal and written communication skills, time management, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet concurrent deadlines, organize time and priorities, and to do so in collaboration with diverse stakeholders
- Proven knowledge in Microsoft Office applications especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and development databases
- Willingness to travel regionally and work occasional evenings and weekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Develops, implements, and leads an integrated donor relations and stewardship program that strategically supports all levels of giving as defined by the Office of Institutional Advancement.
- Identifies and maintains the currency of a portfolio of donors and prospects in cultivation.
- Develops and maintains a written stewardship engagement with donors that includes recommendations for strategic touchpoints throughout the year (i.e. lunches, personalized letters, birthday acknowledgements, endowment reports and updates).
- Primary contact for the coordination and implementation of annual/signature events.
- Oversees and directs the development and implementation of strategic advancement communications in multiple mediums in a timely fashion. This will include, but not be limited to, social media sites, Annual Report to Donors, e-blasts, year-end-reminders, endowment reports, gift acknowledgements, web pages, invitations, newsletter updates, fundraising campaign materials, and press releases. Serves as primary point of contact with Communications and Marketing staff to facilitate effective outreach to constituencies.
- Designs and maintains inventory of fundraising collateral to support fundraising efforts to include brochures, invitations, presentation packages, etc.
- Serves as liaison/primary point of contact with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper and timely execution of strategic partnership agreements.
- Supports implementation of communications strategy especially through social media platforms as appropriate.
- Plans and manages content for the production of Progression, the magazine for donors and friends of Prince George's Community College.
- Plans and implements individualized and collective donor relationship and stewardship programs.
- Serves as primary point person for strategic partnership.
- Ensures special events are communicated and on the calendar of appropriate officials and targeted guests.
- Creates innovative programs and projects to thank and steward donors.
- Ensures the external reporting to donors on endowments.
- May supervise staff and student workers. Tracks and measures effectiveness of donor relations and stewardship activities to enhance relationships and increase the likelihood of continued contributions.
- Works closely with Advancement staff to report to donors on the use of gifts, to arrange meetings between donors and beneficiaries if appropriate, and to help celebrate gifts.

- Must be available to work Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
