Description
The Adam C. Sinn '00 Department of Finance at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, invites applications for a full-time, Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) position with a 10-month academic appointment beginning August 1, 2022. This position also includes an administrative appointment of Program Director. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Professor of Practice (Open Rank) or Clinical Professor (Open Rank) depending on qualifications.
The Department has several energy programs, including the Petroleum Ventures Program (PVP). The program is going through a rebranding to the Energy Ventures Program (EVP). The Department aims to hire a Program Director who, over time, can also be in charge of additional programs in the energy space.

- Successfully interact with Sr. level industry personnel (company presidents/managing directors for investment banks) for recruiting and developing donor relationships.
- Plan, organize and orchestrate multi-day events in the form of Board meetings and other activities
- Show ability to manage advisory boards of industry personnel. Interactions include:
- Student recommendations
- A&M Foundation interactions
- Board member recruiting
- Donation management and fund raising
- Travel to interact with Board members
- Alumni outreach and networking events
- Manage staff
- Professional Staff
- Student Workers
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate level finance electives. Examples may include:
- Derivatives
- Risk Management
- Structured Transactions / M&A
- Market Behavior
- Energy Operations
- Economics of Energy Up-stream, Mid-stream and Down-stream
- Develop enrichment material for programs such as:
- Industry panels
- Appropriate field trips
- Internship preparation
- Manage student recruiting
- Marketing Strategies
- Implementation
- Diversity and Inclusion strategies where appropriate
The position comes with both administrative and teaching responsibilities.
Requirements for Administrative Responsibilities:
- Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years upstream or comparable experience
- An educational degree or career experience that conveys a deep understanding of upstream and downstream energy (crude, crude products, natural gas, LNG, NGL and/or electricity)
- Bachelor's in Finance or Economics with significant relevant experience
