The office is also responsible for recruiting and enrollment of an academically prepared student body that is geographically, ethnically and economically diverse. In addition, Admissions also offers several opportunities for prospective students and their families to visit campus throughout the year to learn about the rich traditions and culture of Texas A&M University.

The Office of Admissions is looking for a Regional Advisor II, to develop and implement admissions, financial aid, and early outreach strategies to enhance the identification, recruitment and enrollment of prospective students interested in attending Texas A&M. This position will work out of a home office near Washington, D.C., within 40 miles ideally, and will be responsible for recruitment efforts in a large territory covering multiple states of the U.S. The ideal candidate is available to travel extensively and enjoys working in a self-motivated, independent structure that requires high productivity and an overall commitment to providing great customer service. This position will be located in the Washington, D.C.-Arlington, VA metro area.
Position Details: Extensive travel is required with evenings and weekend work required as needed. This position requires travel which may include crossing state lines. Travel may exceed 500+ miles over a month span. Mileage is reimbursed for personal vehicle usage when necessary. Multiple trips per year to campus will be required for training and assisting with large recruiting events. Operates personal or company vehicle for travel. Must be self-motivated with the ability to coordinate and attend meetings and conferences at times beyond usual working hours. May be required to lift or move heavy boxes to load and unload necessary supplies for high school visits, presentations, college job fairs, etc.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of related experience in student services, admissions, recruitment, or financial aid
- Must have a Class C driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with individuals or in a group setting
- Ability to work well with students and parents with diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Ability to work as a team member in a dynamic organization, possessing a positive attitude and be customer- service oriented
- Must be literate in the English language and able to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions
- Must possess strong organization skills and be able to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment
- Ability to operate independently, work well under pressure, make decisions, and work with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with standard office equipment and computers, with the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs with ease

- More than two years of professional experience in admissions, recruitment, student advising, student financial aid or student services related position

Provides budgeting, money management, loans and indebtedness counseling to students on an individual and group basis and makes presentations to groups regarding financial aid and scholarship programs and opportunities. Works closely with the Scholarships and Financial Aid Office with regard to awarding and adjusting financial aid awards as necessary to conform to federal, state and institutional policies and regulations.
- Recruitment - Identifies, recruits, and contributes to increasing the population of admitted and enrolled high achieving and underrepresented students in designated high schools and regions. Works directly with prospective students and parents through the entire admissions, scholarship, and financial aid application process; follow-up on specific questions; troubleshoot any issues. Coordinates with high school counselors to facilitate the admissions, financial aid, and scholarship application process. Implements recruitment activities such as campus trips, presentations, resource tables, application workshops and designated area projects. Organizes, implements, and reports on programs/projects including marketing, accommodations, itineraries, meals, speakers and records. Drives company or personal vehicle to travel to high school visits, presentations, college job fairs, etc.
- Customer Service - Interacts with high school faculty, administration and staff to provide and exchange information and to enhance the counseling and advisement of students considering/planning on attending Texas A&M. Develops, implements, and manages recruitment and financial aid early awareness programs for Service assigned areas. Conducts presentations and works at resource tables as requested. Establishes community contacts in select areas in market or region. Develops working relationships with University agencies, departments, counselors and advisors to enhance customer service and satisfaction. Assists with developing and revising admissions and financial aid consumer information materials, publications and brochures for currently enrolled students, prospective students and their parents, as well as for college, department and university use. Conducts presentations at local, state and regional conferences.
- Leadership - Assumes leadership roles in local, state and regional professional associations and committees. Coordinates major office programs.
- Job Knowledge - Develops a working knowledge of University information, opportunities and policies. Maintains knowledge of current federal, state and institutional policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to financial aid and admissions. Attends local and state workshops and conferences. May serve on university, divisional and departmental committees. Performs other duties as assigned.
