Job Description
The UMKC Institute for Human Development, University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (IHD) is an applied research and training center for human services designed to exemplify the University's goals of engaged scholarship and community partnerships. Its functions include interdisciplinary training, applied research, community program development and information dissemination.
The IHD is seeking aSr. Research Assistant or Research Assistantwith health-related research and program coordination experience to join the Maternal and Child Health team.The (SR.) Research Assistant will be responsible for the following activities:
- Facilitate a statewide action network
- Manage and respond to project related communications
- Facilitate action network stakeholder engagement
- Schedule, plan, and facilitate regular action network, planning committee, and workgroup meetings
- Schedule and facilitate individual meetings with partners
- Lead efforts to develop and maintain community resource directories
- Collect, track and document project-related activities and outcomes
- Serve as a liaison between the research team and the action network
- Assist with drafting materials for research papers, reports, and/or presentations
- Other duties as assigned
- Outstanding planning, communication & organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and problem-solve
- Ability to plan and facilitate statewide stakeholder meetings
- Attention to details, independent working and problem solving
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed
- Knowledgeable about and interest in health and maternal health
Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree for Sr. Research Assistant, and a Bachelor's degree for Research Assistant and relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Area of study in social work, public health, informatics, social science fields is preferred.
Full Time/Part Time
Full-Time, benefit-eligible, unranked/non-tenure track academic position. Contract is 12-months, then will go to 6-month contracts.
Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience, education and internal equity...Sr. Research Assistant $50,000 to $55,000 per year or up to $21.63 per hour for a Research Assistant.
