UMSL Overview:
The University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL) was founded in 1963 as the youngest of four campuses within the University of Missouri System. The UMSL Global unit within the University of Missouri-St. Louis provides and facilitates quality international educational opportunities both domestically and abroad. We respond effectively to individual student needs while fostering cultural understanding and self-awareness throughout the student body and contributing to an increasingly international campus. Within this unit, the Study Abroad Office connects students with programming options ranging from short-term faculty led opportunities to semester or year-long exchange at well-positioned international partner institutions.
Position Overview:
The University of Missouri-St. Louis is searching for a well-organized and service-oriented program coordinator to join the UMSL Global Study Abroad office. This position reports to the Manager of Study Abroad and International Programming within UMSL Global and works closely with the entire UMSL Global team. The coordinator will oversee student programs in multiple international locations, and their portfolio will include comprehensive planning and logistics, event execution, financial activities, and marketing in a manner that supports university internationalization and inclusion priorities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Advise students regarding study abroad opportunities and support them before, during, and after their study abroad experience.
- Coordinate exchange and provider study abroad programs affiliated with UMSL by maintaining consistent, timely, and clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Routinely update program and participant data in the study abroad software system Terra Dotta.
- Maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound students, including placement and credit processing.
- Represent the Study Abroad Office at campus events, information sessions, tabling events, and through marketing and social media.
- Assist with the development of study abroad programs and partnerships including advising on proposals and serving as a resource on best practices and logistical resources.
- Facilitate orientations/training sessions/workshops, etc. that increase and engage global competencies within the UMSL community.
- Supervise student workers.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Shift
Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm.
On-site presence four to five days on average.
Occasional weekend hours.
Salary
Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Anticipated Hiring Range:
$37,357 - $42,800
Grade: GGS-008

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in study abroad advising or a service-oriented positionfrom which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is strong preferred. Prior experience studying, working, or living abroad.
Prior experience working with Terra Dotta software.
Knowledge of social media platforms, marketing strategies, and digital design tools.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
