Job Description Summary
he Chemistry Library is seeking a motivated, energetic intern. This is an opportunity for a chemistry or library and information science student to jumpstart their career and learn about chemical information and the workings of a small departmental library, while also gaining insight into the workings of a large academic library system.
Job Description
The intern will learn about and participate in all aspects of chemistry librarianship, including providing support for collections budgeting and management, participating in Web-based outreach, providing general reference to the Penn Libraries via their chat and information desk, writing guides and documentation, and attending relevant library-wide meetings. Project work will support current library efforts, and will be tailored as closely as possible to the individual interests of the intern. The internship will be for 10-20 hours per week.

QUALIFICATIONS:
All applicants must be enrolled in a master's degree program in chemistry, chemical engineering, or library/information science, with an interest in chemical information or science librarianship. An undergraduate degree in chemistry or a related discipline is preferred but not required. In addition, the successful candidate must have the ability to manage and prioritize their workload and must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
