JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Registrar, this position supervises and evaluates the day-to-day activities of staff within the Registrar's Office to include training of Registrar's support staff, delegation of duties, and troubleshooting issues. Provides administrative oversight and functional programming of the Banner Student Registration modules including student registration, course scheduling, and administrative functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the Coordinators to act as a liaison with the Colleges regarding commencement and oversees degree audit, verification, conferral, and reporting for all UTHSC graduates, ensure student grade submissions comply with term deadlines and monitors the timely and accurate reporting of grades for compliance and reporting purposes
- Coordinate block registration and is responsible for quality control to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of all enrollment data to the National Student Clearinghouse, UT System, THEC, and other accreditation and reporting agencies
- Ensures business processes and daily Registrar operations are executed consistent with FEPRA and university policies and procedures
- Assists Registrar in drafting university policies, distribution of current and future information, and providing guidance on policy to faculty and staff.
- Coordinates with the Registrar and the Registrar's office staff to assist in the updating of all Banner registration modules and assists in interpretation of University of Tennessee System and Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) guidelines.
- Assists with special projects involving new trends and technology in the Registrar's office and the Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services.
Qualifications :
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience working in a postsecondary Registrar's Office. Experience with Banner student information system. Project leadership experience. OR Greater preference may be given to applicantswith five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience working in a postsecondary Registrar's Office. Experience setting up Banner tables in accordance with academic policy. Project implementation experience. Two years supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong organizational skills management, leadership, interpersonal skills, customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of Banner student information system.
- Knowledge of FERPA guidelines and state and federal privacy regulations.
