A member of University Communications and Marketing’s (UCM) Digital Marketing team, the Assistant Director, Social Media is responsible for the implementation of Miami University’s social media strategy and the day-to-day management of Miami’s primary social media accounts. The Assistant Director will report to the Director of Digital Marketing. The Assistant Director of Social Media plans, writes, and produces creative and engaging social media content that supports student recruitment efforts, retention efforts, community building, and elevates Miami University’s reputation and brand. The successful candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, resourceful, organized, adaptable, efficient, collaborative, and highly-creative. The position requires expert knowledge of social media platforms, excellent creative writing skills, and proficient data analytics experience in order to drive account growth, engagement, and impact.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of professional experience managing, and developing content for, social media accounts for a business or organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok.
  • Experience using social media management systems, such as, Sprout Social and/or Hootsuite.
  • Excellent communication and creative writing skills.
  • Ability to multitask, manage timelines, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to develop content ideas and follow them through to completion.
