Currently Franklin & Marshall is recruiting for an Associate Director of Admission.

The Associate Director of Admission is responsible for the identification and recruitment of promising prospective students.  The Associate Director of Admission is responsible for reaching an enrollment goal in the assigned geographic territory and contribute to the attainment of the overall enrollment target for the new student class at Franklin & Marshall College.

Essential functions

  • Work with College partners - community based organizations and networks.  Work with the Office of Financial Aid, Communications, Athletics & Recreation, College Houses, faculty, and other campus offices to initiate and facilitate Admission initiatives.
  • Read and evaluate admission applications, identify prospective students of high potential, and recommend students for admission.  Develop and implement an effective recruitment strategy aligned with department and College goals, customized to the assigned geographic territory.
  • Initiate and facilitate efforts designed to recruit talented students from all backgrounds. Maintain contact with students interested in admission and provide excellent customer service. Respond to inquiries for information in a timely manner. Monitor and evaluate recruitment strategies to assure they are successful and aligned with department goals.
  • Supervise in-house/local recruitment and evaluation staff in Admission Office. Create an atmosphere that welcomes creative & innovative thinking, while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the planning and executing of all recruitment and evaluation initiatives.
  • Travel within assigned geographic territory to represent the College at high schools and college fairs.  Meet with high school students, parents, and guidance counselors to promote academic and extracurricular programs at Franklin & Marshall College.
  • Develop and implement an effective recruitment strategy aligned with department and College goals, customized to the assigned geographic territory.
  • Work with Directors of Recruitment, and Operations & Division Services, to monitor budget/spending throughout the fiscal year.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with Master's degree preferred
  • One to three years experience required, more years preferred.
  • Experience in college admission recruitment or secondary school counseling preferred.
  • Intermediate skills in Google suite required. 
  • Basic skills with data bases preferred.
  • CRM experience preferred.
  • Intermediate ability to think critically and analytically and to manage projects required.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • The ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.

Because this position requires driving for College business, the successful candidate must possess a U.S. or Canadian driver's license which has been valid for at least two years, have a driving record that is free from excessive motor vehicle violations within the last three years, and have had no convictions in the last 24 months for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
