The School of Dentistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Dental Public Health and Behavioral Science.
Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Epidemiology, or related field and history of grant funded research. Individuals with a DDS/DMD and MS in Bioinformatics, Epidemiology, or related field and history of grant funded research will also be considered.
Successful candidates must have a proven track record in behavioral, epidemiological, data analytics, and/or health services research. The practice of dentistry is transforming into a person-centered model of care that will look very different from how dentistry is currently practiced.
We are interested in innovative candidates with experience integrating biomedical research discovery with oral health care delivery to complement our existing dental public health research expertise and grow our data science team.
The primary attributes we seek in candidates are:
• Demonstrated excellence in research, as the faculty member would be expected to initiate or continue independent, extramurally funded research,
• Experience with research that uses large-scale data and/or computational analysis/modeling,
• Experience successfully collaborating on interdisciplinary research teams, and
• A specialization in data analytics.
