The University of South Florida, USF Health, is searching for a dynamic collegial leader to serve as Dean, College of Nursing. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a nurse leader to continue the positive trajectory of the College of Nursing as an internationally renowned center of nursing excellence.
The Dean of the College of Nursing reports to the Senior Vice President, USF Health, and serves as part of the leadership team of USF Health, which includes the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, and Pharmacy, and the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitative Sciences. The Dean will be expected to establish and communicate a compelling vision for the College that incorporates excellence and innovation in the tripartite mission inclusive of education, research, and service. In addition, the Dean will be responsible for providing leadership for the College of Nursing establishing academic and administrative policy and overseeing all College operations and programs. Further, the Dean will be responsible for promoting inter-professional education and interdisciplinary research within USF Health and throughout the University, as well as community engagement, locally and internationally.
Founded in 1973, the College of Nursing is one of four colleges in USF Health at the University of South Florida, and offers a baccalaureate, master’s, CRNA, DNP, and PhD programs. The College of Nursing is comprised of 65 full-time and 7 part-time faculty and 71 affiliate faculty and has over 700 clinical affiliates including 10 major hospitals within a 10-county service area in West Central Florida. The College of Nursing enrolls 2,199 students and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education for the BS, MS, and DNP degree programs. In addition, the Nurse Anesthesia master’s concentration is accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs.
