The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion leads strategic diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts for organizational change toward intercultural competency in the campus community and participates in community engagement efforts associated with diversity and inclusion. Additionally, the Director serves as the 1B.1 Reporting Officer for student and employee complaints and investigations.
The position provides leadership and direction towards ensuring that South Central College is an inclusive community that nurtures learning and growth for all of its members. The Director will collaboratively work with both individuals and groups both within and external to the college and maintain a visible profile both on campus and with external constituencies to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion.
The Director will take the lead in engaging the college community in learning opportunities regarding intercultural competency and diversity, resolve issues constructively within college, and involve the President’s Executive Cabinet and other members of the management team of the college to embed equity and inclusion with units and departments. This position will serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet and will represent the college at the system level.
