DIRECTOR OF TEACHING AND LEARNING

OFFICE OF MEDICAL EDUCATION

 

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine invites applications for the Director of Teaching and Learning position within the Office of Medical Education. This role will oversee the management, development, and assessment of the Pre-Clinical Faculty Development and Excellence in Teaching Program, the Student Academic Success Services Program, and the Academic Medicine Pipeline Program. The Director of Teaching and Learning is expected to help achieve the goals of these programs by fostering a community of practice among educators; increasing the development and implementation of active learning pedagogies; assisting in developing innovative curriculum and developing educators’ knowledge and implementation of best practices in teaching and learning; delivering engaging and needs based faculty development programming; identifying struggling students early and developing a comprehensive program that provides timely support with a focus on tools for success; monitoring and assessing programmatic outcomes; and developing the next generation of medical educators in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and research.

 

Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree as MD, DO, or other doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or other) from an accredited College of Medicine or University and a minimum of three years of related work experience in higher education. Preferred qualifications include prior leadership role in an accredited College of Medicine, a strong record of faculty development, experience in program development and management, and evidence of involvement with programs resulting in student success.
