Job Information

The Department of Counseling, Recreation, and School Psychology, College of Arts, Sciences & Education at FIU invites applications for an Open Rank Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Recreation and Sport Management beginning August, 2022.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include conducting research in chosen area of expertise, building collaborative research partnerships with faculty colleagues across various disciplines, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Recreation and Sport Management program, serving on department/university/community committees, and seeking external funding to support research activities. Additional responsibilities include advising and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, participating in the continued development of the Recreation and Sport Management program, and engaging in professional and public service activities.

Qualifications: Doctorate in Sport Management or closely related field is desired. The candidate should be able to demonstrate ability and potential to conduct research and publish scholarly work, evidence of teaching experience, ability or potential to engage external stakeholders and secure external funding, and involvement in professional associations. Preference will be given to candidates with focused research and teaching ability in the following area(s): sport marketing, sport fan behavior, and/or sport development.

The Recreation and Sport Management Program is a vibrant program with a healthy and growing number of applicants and strong enrollment.
