Purpose of Position

To develop, implement, and manage efforts associated with System-wide programs in the Office of Talent and Innovation (OTI) intended to solve demonstrable challenges that affect multiple UT institutions in ways that are cost effective, scalable, and that benefit from coordination and initial investment at the System level.


Essential Functions

  • Build and maintain productive and service-oriented relationships within UT System Administration, at all System institutions, and external partners in functional areas related to OTI pilots and programs. Scope, develop, and recommend implementation approaches for potential OTI program pilots.
  • Continue to develop existing UT System OTI programs such as Texas Venture Connect and the Career Exploration Network in collaboration with and in service to UT institutions. Engage multiple stakeholders, develop, track and communicate progress against milestones and observable success metrics, and evolve program tactics based on new information obtained during launch phases. Identify obstacles and opportunities and present recommendations to address them. Lead program-related vendor selection and management efforts.
  • Assist with the development of innovation and talent-sponsored events. Support strategic planning efforts and other special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of program management or similar experience.


Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree.


Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • 10% Travel.
  • Requires occasional evening or weekend hours.


Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
