The Department of Health and Human Performance at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Health, Education and Professional Studies invites applications for a non-tenure-track position in Exercise Science, Pedagogy and Nutrition beginning January 1, 2020.

 

The University of Tennessee Chattanooga, Department of Health and Human Performance, invites applications for a 9-month non-tenure-track faculty position at the Lecturer level. The successful candidate will provide teaching support within the exercise science, physical education/health concentrations and nutrition minor.  Examples of undergraduate courses the applicant might teach include but are not limited to: anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, exercise prescription/lab, resistance training, worksite health promotion, community and environmental health, health behavior change, school health, and basic human nutrition. Working collaboratively and cooperatively with faculty and staff within the department, college, and clinical sites is essential.

 

Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess the following requirements:

  • Earned Master’s Degree or higher in Exercise Science, Nutrition or closely-related field.
  • Proven experience in fields such as exercise physiology, resistance training, exercise testing and programming and other fields related to exercise science, nutrition and/or public health.
  • Ability to teach undergraduate courses in exercise science including lab courses, public health,and/or basic human nutrition.
  • College-level teaching experience
  • Candidates should also be willing to engage in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction and experiential learning
  • Willingness to engage in assisting the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC’s strategic plan.
  • Excellent communication including verbal, written and presentation skills to work with diverse groups

 

Preferred Qualifications

Undergraduate teaching experience including online instruction
