The Ohio Innocence Project at the College of Law, founded in 2003, harnesses the energy and intellect of law students to identify inmates in Ohio prisons who are actually innocent of the crimes they were convicted of committing. At Cincinnati Law, you can be a part of one of the national Innocence Network's most successful branches. Under the guidance and supervision of clinical professors, the Rosenthal Fellow will work on cases where individuals are claiming innocence of the crimes for which they were convicted.

The Fellow will handle a caseload of approximately 50 files and work on all aspects of those files from initial intake, investigation, and identifying cases that are appropriate for litigation. The Fellow will draft post-conviction documents and appear in court for hearings and arguments. The attorney will also supervise the work of law student fellows. Also, please note that this is a 25-month position to start August 3, 2020 and end in September 2022.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • J.D. or J.D. expected by June 1, 2020

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with or coursework in innocence or post-conviction law and experience with or knowledge of forensic sciences. Prior experience working with an innocence organization as a law st udent preferred.
