At this time, the Department of Pediatrics at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital/Stanford University School of Medicine is recruiting applications for a faculty member in the clinician-educator line. The successful candidate will possess expertise in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine. The candidate will work at our San Francisco, Emeryville, and East Bay Area locations. Engaging in research activities, across the full range of Stanford University, is highly encouraged. Teaching of medical students, residents and fellows will be an important component of the position.
Your responsibilities will include:
This position will be located primarily at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, CA and California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. The successful candidate will provide in-patient and out-patient clinical care in several community hospitals and clinics across the greater east and north bay area locations. The clinical teams serve a diverse patient population, with a broad range of pulmonary conditions. The successful candidate will participate in the didactics of medical students, residents and fellows. Contributing to research, quality improvement and program development is strongly encouraged. This position is part of the larger, cohesive group of Pediatric Pulmonologists at Stanford University and Stanford Children’s Health.
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
An MD/DO degree and Board Certification in Pediatrics, and either Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine and a California Medical License by the time of hire. Additional Board Certification in Sleep Medicine is a plus. The candidate will be appointed at the Assistant, Associate or Professor rank in the Clinical Educator Line. The Clinical Educator role is defined by engagement in clinical care and teaching that advances clinical medicine. It is expected that candidates are outstanding clinicians with dedication to teaching and mentoring trainees. Priority will be given to candidates who specialize in cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease, or sleep medicine.
