The University of Kansas Center for Public Partnerships seeks a seasoned professional to expand and maximize our current capacity and tools to meet the research and data analytic needs of the future. With a heavy emphasis on turning insight into action, CPPR is poised to respond to urgent requests for in-depth data analytics, decision-making tools informed by data, and analyzing and predicting trends for the future of children, youth, and families. We seek a social or data scientist with experience running a team, lab of staff, or students in research and evaluation projects, statistical methodology, data management and merging, translating data/research into actionable recommendations for real world application, and creative problem solving with all available information. This experienced professional will preferably have a Ph.D. in a relevant social or data science field, be adept at leading multiple research or data projects, be able to communicate clearly and develop skills in others, and conduct or direct rigorous data analysis techniques. This professional will lead projects and set the vision for positioning CPPR to respond rapidly and rigorously to complex social issues in the systems that affect children, youth, and families (e.g., public health, social services, education).

 

Required Qualifications

1. Master’s degree and 3 years of experience in field of study OR Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience in field of study.

Preferred Qualifications

1. PhD. In social sciences and 5 years of experience in research or data related fields
2. At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in a leadership role in a research or social service organization
3. Deep content expertise in data analytics, research methodology, and/or children, youth, and family content
4. Demonstrated experience supervising staff and developing talent from diverse backgrounds and disciplines
5. Demonstrated experience developing and directing a portfolio of research or social innovation projects
6. Demonstrated experience adapting to changing contexts by revising approaches and workplans
7. Demonstrated experience leading strengths-based collaboratives or teams with clear vision and goals
