Nebraska Wesleyan University seeks applications from individuals who can work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in the role of Residential Education Coordinator (REC). Residential Education Coordinators (RECs) are full-time, live-in Student Life professionals who supervise residential communities on campus. RECs share evening, weekend, and holiday work in support of the safety and wellbeing of residential students.
RECs report to the Assistant Dean for Student Success and Residential Education and serve on a team of Residential Education professional staff including four REC, 25 undergraduate Peer Assistants, an Administrative Assistant for Residential Education and the Assistant Dean for Student Success and Residential Education.
This position is a full-time salaried, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act with a comprehensive benefit package including paid time off, retirement, and insurance packages. In addition, Residential Education Coordinators are provided with, a furnished apartment with private laundry, meal benefits and free, reserved parking. NWU’s live-on policy allows for spouse or domestic partner residency as well as dependent residency. REC housing is pet-friendly (some restrictions apply). Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree and post-baccalaureate professional or educational experience in student development/Student Life required. Successful candidates will possess significant Residential Education experience, theoretical and practical knowledge of student development and its application within a residential environment, and the demonstrated ability to foster inclusive communities.
