Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Infrastructure Operations Architect in Information Technology. The Infrastructure Operations division of the Information Technology Department is hiring an Infrastructure Operations Architect to join its team. Salisbury University has a diverse campus consisting of multiple datacenters, over 300 servers including physical and VMWare virtual guests, 2 Petabytes of storage, a fully deployed CommVault Enterprise Backup Environment, over 20,000 network ports utilizing Juniper, Splunk, and Palo Alto Networks equipment to provide a robust, secure, and efficient computing environment for the campus community.

Primary Job Duties: Plan, design, and implement communications and datacenter infrastructure, server systems and software, including virtualization technologies, routing and networking technologies, wireless RF planning, storage area networks, server operating systems, back-end application support, network load balancers, datacenter power and infrastructure, and backup technologies. Monitor, analyze and develop technology measures to ensure reliable network and application performance and availability. Assist in the engineering, implementation, and coordination of a wide variety of server based technologies and IT infrastructure activities and projects. Support and expand the SU Private Cloud to increase the availability of software for use by faculty, staff and students from anywhere. Maximize system and application availability that supports academic and administrative and student requirements.

Minimum Qualifications: (5) Five to (7) seven years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree. Experience engineering, configuring, and maintaining an enterprise datacenter environment is required. Experience with server operating systems, virtualization, storage, and enterprise applications is required. Must be proficient with general server, networking, and security architecture principles, design models, troubleshooting techniques and industry best practices.

Must be detail oriented and have excellent customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience engineering, configuring, and maintaining network and security equipment, solutions, and programs is desirable.

This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
