Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Academic Program Specialist in the Psychology Department.

Primary Job Duties: Under general supervision, independently coordinates operational tasks involved in the day-to-day administration of the department and associated academic programs. This will include assisting the Department Chair with department and program/grant administration.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in administrative staff work. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, standard office hardware (computers, printers, etc.).

Excellent interpersonal, customer service, administrative, oral and written communication skills; attention to detail; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, multi-task, be flexible and possess the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, demonstrate initiative, project a professional image, and work independently or as part of a team.

General knowledge of social sciences related to the ability to present statistical material, to include scientific research methods, techniques used in collecting, compiling, and organizing data, and experience preparing reports and research studies, including ethical guidelines, analyses of programs, and working with confidential student and employee information; ability to follow organizational procedures. Skill in the use of office automation software and its application; in operating manual and automated office equipment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; to present ideas and information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; to perform mathematical computations; ability to work with multiple budgets.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Psychology or other social science preferred. Experience with USM policies and procedures, PeopleSoft Financials, and GullNet is also preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Starting hourly rate is $17.82, which is approximately $37,157.00 annually.
