Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Academic Program Specialist in the Office of the Registrar.

Primary Job Duties: This position is responsible for coordinating the operational tasks involved in the day-to-day administration of processes in the Registrar's Office, including but not limited to course scheduling, grade changes, academic clemency, apostilles, and student biographical data to provide exceptional external and internal customer service. Works closely with the registrars to assist with special projects such as audits, subpoenas and coding for academic standing. Manages departmental ordering and reconciles all transactions for the departmental budget.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination in accordance with USM Guidelines. One year of experience in administrative staff work. Related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. Knowledge of student information system software (Peoplesoft), Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, One Drive, etc.), experience with electronic record retention, and copy machines.

Must be flexible, professional and able to work independently as part of the Registrar's Office staff. Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail, good organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment, knowledge of transcript processing, all facets of registration processes, document management, excellent computer skills, working with Microsoft Office Suite and PeopleSoft, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills to interact with internal and external customers. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with tact and discretion. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to train, supervise, and evaluate personnel.

Preferred Qualifications: 3 years experience in a Registrar's Office or higher education office that required the application of FERPA guidelines with an emphasis on customer service and maintaining academic records is preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Starting hourly rate is $18.16, which is approximately $37,863.00 annually. After successful completion of a 6-month probationary period, there is a 2.5% pay increase for new hires or internal promotions.
