Recycling Coordinator - EXTENDED

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Recycling Coordinator.

Primary Job Duties: Manage, support and educate students and staff to increase the volume of recyclable material and limit waste. Assist in educating the importance of waste and BMP management. Coordinates recycling activities on campus, including but not limited to, operations, student education and the physical activities required for refuse and recycling. Schedules, prioritizes, and assists in the collection of various recyclable materials and refuse from campus. Conducts hands on visual inspection of refuse and recycling bins around campus and makes process improvements, as necessary. Manages the process of the collection and shredding of confidential documents. Directs and coordinates daily work assignments for student and staff. Educates the campus community in proper recycling procedures. Promote and market the recycling program. Identify or investigate new opportunities for material to be collected and recycled as well as process improvement on existing processes. Monitors collected material and analyzes data for reporting volume information to state and county. Keeping detailed information for historical data. Organizes support for various campus departments and functions through work order requests.

Minimum Qualifications: One to three years of related experience and a Bachelor s degree in Environmental Studies or related field are required.

Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.

This is a full-time, exempt, Contingent II (contractual), position with a limited benefits package including medical, prescription, dental, paid leave, tuition remission and more. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is considered essential and will be called upon to provide emergency coverage when necessary.
