The Clarke Honors College at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the position of full-time lecturer. This is a 10-month, non-tenure track position housed in the Clarke Honors College.
Area of Specialization: Honors advising, honors education.
Primary Job Duties: Work with all honors students to develop an academic plan for satisfying Clarke Honors College curriculum requirements and honors opportunities; Monitor honors student progress through systems such Peoplesoft, MyClasses, Microsoft Office, and internal recordkeeping; Work with faculty and staff to develop and implement retention strategies in the Clarke Honors College; Assist the Dean of the Clarke Honors College and staff with the collaboration among different honors tracks, majors, the office of the Registrar, Career Services, and other student support services; Handle general student requests for information and assistance in curricular and co-curricular activities. Teach one or more sections of HONR 111, 112, 211, and/or 212 each semester.
The position will report to the Dean of the Clarke Honors College and will support initiatives and objectives related to the Clarke Honors College. The position will work with a caseload of around 400, advising honors students in navigating the requirements of the Clarke Honors College. In addition, the position will also teach honors courses in the honors college, attend related honors events, and assist with recruitment and retention.
Minimum Qualifications: Master s degree in an academic discipline; previous advising and/or honors experience; previous teaching experience; excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office; excellent communication skills; ability to adapt and work collaboratively; willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes some weekends and evening duties.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with an honors program or college; previous record-keeping and database development experience.
