Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant II in the Physics Department.
Primary Job Duties: Under general supervision, the purpose of this position is to provide complex administrative support for the Physics Academic program as well as coordinating the upkeep of the Programs website. This support will include maintaining daily budget activities, creating, coordinating and maintaining databases and program files; preparing correspondence; researching, analyzing, and summarizing information; ensuring confidentiality of information, and any other duties requested from faculty and Chair of the department.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of three years of experience in an acadmistrative/support function. Proficient in Microsoft Office and preferred experience in Peoplesoft.
General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to proofread and edit written documents. Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation programs. Internet, email, and calendaring software. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Starting hourly rate is $18.16, which is approximately $37,863.00 annually. After successful completion of a 6-month probationary period, there is a 2.5% pay increase for new hires or internal promotions.
