What we want

The Facilities Assistant provides oversight of set-up , operation and breakdown of the departments events calendar, works closely with internal and external constituencies to coordinate facility and maintenance tasks, and assists with the hiring, training, and scheduling of student employees, including daily task lists. This is a part-time, temporary position with several openings. Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One year of event management, operations and/or facilities experience


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to allocate work assignments and/or task responsibilities, maximizing effectiveness and efficiency of self and others
  • Analyzes problems and develops alternative solutions
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
  • Effective written and oral communication and Computer skills


Other Requirements or Other Factors:
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as well as breaks and holidays (as needed)
  • Will be trained in proper use of all necessary equipment


Preferred Experience:
  • More than one year of event management, operations and/or facilities experience


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • A team player with leadership skills
  • Enthusiastic with a desire to work hard and have fun
  • Knowledge and interest in sports and athletic operations
  • Familiarity with and ability to use various power tools
  • Skills in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite


Responsibilities:
  • Provides oversight of set-up , operation, and breakdown of the departments events calendar
  • Works closely with internal and external constituencies to coordinate facility and maintenance tasks
  • Assists with the hiring, training, and scheduling of student employees, including daily task lists
  • Responsible for daily facility reviews of selected athletics events to assist in the operation
  • Enforces rules and regulations and stops all unsafe actions
  • Acts with the interest of the Athletics Department and performs other duties as assigned
