Position: Assistant Professor (Tenure Track)
Minimum Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate in special education;
• To be considered at the assistant level, candidate must demonstrate evidence of:
(a) scholarly potential through collaboration and participation in research,
(b) submission of manuscripts for publication,
potential to seek external funding,
(d) potential to purse scholarly endeavors that will lead to successful promotion and tenure.
• Three years of teaching experience in K-6 Special education
• Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders
• Commitment to diversity and excellence
• Knowledge of instructional technology applications and distance delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
• Track record of completed research published or potential to complete research and publish in top-tier journals
• Research in K-6 education settings related to academic (i.e., reading, math, writing) interventions for students with mild disabilities, LD preferred.
• Track record of or potential for external funding for research or substantial personnel preparation or service
• University-level special education methods teaching experience
• Knowledge of curriculum requirements and trends in the K-12 special education
