The University of Missouri Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (VMS) invites applicants forthree(3) Assistant, Associate, or Full Teaching Professor (non-tenure track) positions in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Service.
The successful candidates will be expected to provide teaching and clinical service in the MU Veterinary Health Center, in the Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care section. Teaching activities will be clinical and didactic in nature, and will involve professional students, graduate students, resident veterinarians, and house officers. Some weekend and evening duty should be expected as part of the appointment. Participation in research is possible, with an emphasis on collaborative and clinical projects. The position is a 1.0 FTE/12-month appointment.
In addition to standard cardiopulmonary monitoring equipment, the service is equipped with four GE Engstrom Carestation mechanical ventilators, a Vapotherm high flow oxygen unit, Snyder oxygen cages, prismaflex CRRT and TPE system, telemetry, and a Sonosite ultrasound machine.
Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree and be eligible for professional licensure (faculty or regular license) to practice Veterinary Medicine in the State of Missouri within 3 months of their appointment date. New faculty hires for this position must be eligible to obtain and maintain DEA and BNDD registrations, as soon as they are licensed to practice Veterinary Medicine in the State of Missouri. Individuals must be either board certified (DACVECC) or have completed a residency program that meets requirements for board certification by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) by the time of appointment.
