Temporary Staff Opportunities

Departments contact our office when there is a need for temporary support for temporary placements. These temporary requests are typically clerical and administrative in nature, for all levels and abilities with varying schedules. When we receive a request for which you are qualified, we will contact you to let you know the details of the assignment, and if you are interested, we will schedule an interview. If you are offered a temporary position and accept, a criminal background check will be completed.

Schedules and availability may vary based on the need of the department, but appointments will not exceed eight months. It is imperative to work the assignment for the length of time requested. These assignments are not eligible for University-paid benefits or paid holidays. As with any temporary staffing agency, there is never any guarantee for another assignment.

For your application to be considered for any UMSL position, you must:

1. List your complete work history as well as other employment (including significant volunteer experience) which demonstrates your qualifications.

2. Provide Education details for all education levels.

3. List at least three (3) references different than those listed in the work history section.

4. Respond to ALL questions in the Applicant Questionnaire section completely.

UMSL cannot accept any application materials (resumes, cover letters, etc.) by e-mail, mail, or walk-in. All applications and application materials must be submitted through our online application system. See our Application FAQs to answer any further questions you may have. Please contact employment@umsl.edu for any further questions.

For questions about how applicants apply, please call (314) 516-5381, or if you are experiencing technical problems, please emailumpshrsupport@umsystem.edu.
