The Vice-President, Academic and Provost, reporting to the President, is the chief academic officer of the University and has overall responsibility for students, academic programs and the resources used in their delivery. Reporting to the Provost are Deans of the Faculties of Applied Sciences; Arts and Social Sciences; Beedie School of Business; Communication, Art and Technology; Education; Environment; Health Sciences; Science, as well as Lifelong Learning and Graduate Studies. The Provost oversees the portfolios for student affairs (which includes enrolment management, housing, health and counselling, athletics and recreation, and other areas), academic planning (finance and budget, university curriculum), and learning and teaching. Additional reports include the Chief Information Officer and the Directors for the offices of: Aboriginal Peoples, Faculty Relations, and Centre for Dialogue (dual report to VP, External Relations).
